Can this perspective tool be explained for Photoshop users? I do not use Procreate.
Alexandria Buegel
01:13:51
read a book if you don't understand perspective
Troy Tabor
01:14:19
in this case the the light itself seem to be the center point of the perspective and you could use its box as your scale, at least to me
Dru Pettibone
01:14:39
What did you click to set those lines?
Elise Clare
01:15:12
Can you please expand on how a Photoshop user would use a perspective tool?

We will do questions soon
Hector Verdugo- SVP of Admissions
01:18:43
I am going to let him keep working on this and then I'll send him some questions.
Averie Adam
01:19:51
Does this perspective technique also work with rounder scenery? Like a cave or rolling hills?
Alexandria Buegel
01:20:24
an easy way to figure out perspective is to read a book on it.
Cesia Martinez
01:20:56
Do you recommend any books in particular?
Alexandria Buegel
01:21:06
yes
Karen De la Vega
01:21:09

Are we going to go into more depth into perspective like this in the following semester. Or is this just going to be like an opening into what we are going to be required to for the homework.

Cesia Martinez
01:44:12
I get you. I used to use autodesk cuz I’m broke.
Melissa Bruno
01:45:11
Averie, you might like Clip Studio Paint since the brush engine/blending are similar, but it also has perspective guides. I got my copy for $35 on sale. They have sales frequently.

Alexandria Buegel
01:49:22
doesn't matter what you use for digital art as long as you can use it. plus in my experience it takes too long to get used to drawing with things your not used to.
Nadia Roldan
01:49:49
procreate is only $10 and can do quite a bit.
Melissa Bruno
01:50:06

Wacom is recommended by the school
Alexandria Buegel
01:50:57
Wacom is expensive
Nadia Roldan
01:50:57
you have more larger the storage is on the ipad
Cesia Martinez
01:51:16
I wouldn’t know. I use xp-pen
Alexandria Buegel
01:51:32
Plus you need good computer if your going to use things like wacom
Alexandria Buegel
01:51:43
xp-pen is best
Jesse Lawrence
01:51:47
I have the Wacom Cintiq and its nice
Melissa Bruno
01:51:55
that's why the Samsung Galaxy tabs are nice; you get something similar to a Cintiq for a lot less
Jason Smith
01:51:58
a lot of the digital tablets are expensive unless you're willing to use one without a screen. the screenless ones are cheap
Melissa Bruno
01:52:06
with a Wacom digitizer inside
Jesse Lawrence
01:52:25
You can get a Wacom one I think for like $40-$60
Cesia Martinez
01:52:31
Mine was about 350 dollars.
Cesia Martinez
01:52:36
Kinda pricey
Jeff Yarbrough
01:52:45
but so definitely worth it
Jesse Lawrence
01:52:47
It just doesn’t have a screen
Jesse Lawrence
01:52:54

Averie Adam
01:52:54

How did you pull up and place the blue photo on the left?
Averie Adam
01:54:51
clipping groups are your best friend. I learned that the hard way
Troy Tabor
01:54:55
lol, but I did pick up a used 2017 13"Mac Book Pro for decent, so yay. But I figured with game dev, more in Win, so have both, bot wanted because I have prev exp in audio
Melissa Bruno

01:57:32
How exactly did you start the painting of the cityscapes? I can't seem to get the layers to work to start
Alexandria Buegel
01:57:41
Will we be going more in depth with this in the following semester.
Averie Adam
01:57:51
If I did decide I wanted to do an organic painting, would I use the same method, if not, what should I do to get started?
Jose Ortiz
01:57:53
would you say resisting the urge to zoom in and fix is your biggest problem as an artist?
Daisyrie Rose Bañas
01:57:59
what is the best app to use for Android user sir?
Jennifer Valentine
01:58:29
what would you suggest to buy for a tablet and app or is it just up to preference?
Troy Tabor
01:58:45
question. when Joko mentioned that you would n9t want to shade darker than the current grey, is this also where you would use half tone darker to further dita=ce to assit blur and dithering?
Velez
01:58:48
I have a cartoon art style, so will we be doing a special perspective lesson for that?
Hector Verdugo- SVP of Admissions
01:58:59
@Jennifer- It's definitely a preference thing. I do see many people using Procreate these days.

Megan Mohammed
02:14:19

Hector Verdugo- SVP of Admissions
02:14:29
Thanks Jeff!
Hector Verdugo- SVP of Admissions
02:15:00
@Megan- Do not worry. We teach this over an entire semester. This is just something fun to see what you can do.
Melissa Bruno
02:15:03
you'll get it, Megan. Sometimes it takes a while to click
Jose Ortiz
02:15:36
how do you create the effect of a creature emerging from shadows?
Lindsey Rayon
02:15:55
how do you make that glow effect??
Dru Pettibone
02:16:02
What program at Academy of Art would I do this in? Illustration or ?
Hector Verdugo- SVP of Admissions
02:16:08
@Lindsey- Layers and composition
Lindsey Rayon
02:16:16
aaah okay thanks
Courtney Rishling
02:16:18
Its definitely something you continuously work on! I love to attend as many of these as possible to even brush up on the basics!
Keelin
02:16:33
@lindsey, some of the brushes in procreate also have that effect
Courtney Rishling

It has been many decades since my last formal courses, but the basic key that was always stressed at least to me. I controlling the sightline of the observer. to fr example, the earlier F1 if the initial camera view is raised about 25 degrees, then the neon sign would have been the initial focal point, and in video or animation or sptryboarding, can they pn down to the racecars to shoft the fcus
Troy Tabor
02:49:51
I think I stated that correctly lol
Troy Tabor
