Students can take both classes!
I’m a Fine Art major, looking at the intensive just to add a skill for composition
That’s great, Sandra
is there instruction in using Photoshop?
does the GI Bill cover this type of class?
Julie — can you say more about that? We can speak to the quality of the photo classes, certainly, but your advisor might help in how these classes fit into your overall program
Hi, Raphael — yes, it’s very likely it does. Your advisor can confirm.
thank you katty
Alma — yes! The foundation of your shooting will be about exploring on your own in new locations, though there are a few times we will convent together
is there a brochure with the cost?
Sandra — yes! Coming up soon
will you be able to participate in field trips in the intersession class?
what field trips are there during the intensive, or do we stay only in Florence area?
Are there final projects or final exams?
I went last year for painting
Hi, Ski — there is a final project but no exams
Oh, great, Sandra! So you know how great Firenze is
Alma — the costs will cover your housing in Florence and the hotel rooms on trips. It does not cover the flight. Tamara will present the breakdown shortly.
Hi, Enrique! Not as a group but there will be plenty of time to venture on your own!

Alma — SRISA housing is your own room in a shared apartment
Alma — my mistake — that rate is a shared room, but with an additional fee you can have your own room. Housing can also be arranged independently
Tamara Hubbard THubbard@academyart.edu Photography Department 1.415.618.3699
directions to our room and class are provided to us upon registration?
Raphael — yes, and actually you will be able to map locate them before you leave for Florence
Alma — you will need a converter, yes, but they are available for sale in Florence, as well
All essentials are easy to buy in Florence
fun question: are there any local camera stores around campus? i have a SLR
Raphael — yes! There is an Apple store — and a couple of camera stores for basic equipment
Are we expected to know a lot already about using SLR cameras or will there be help?
Sandra — we will provide some introductory exercises for you before we depart, but no experience is required
Enrique — yes!
Katty — thank you!
I should probably research this myself but I was wondering if there were any places that you know of that develops film around campus? I wanted to bring my film camera as well as my DSLR.
Enrique — there are additional charges to bring family on SRISA trips, but they are welcome. We ask that you attend classes and local trips on your own, so that we can focus on the curricular aspects
How many students is the max for intersession?
